Context for a Drawing

I drew this picture in my notes after Rich Sohn’s class this morning. It depicts a physicality in which one repeatedly slaps their chest and back with large, sweeping motions using their forearms. In one case, it led to a character that was lethargic/reluctant in the scene.

After the scene, Rich pointed out that by shifting some of the energy from the physical choice to a point of view or emotion, the resulting character can become more grounded. In other words, one can create subtler, realer characters that are equally rich but with less whimsy.
